Strange Things Are Happening. Old Powers Are Stirring. And Ava Cassidy Is Starting to Wake Up.

Firecracker is Book One of Age of the Serpent and the start of an epic journey far bigger than Ava can yet imagine.

Ava Cassidy has always known she has gifts. She just doesn’t call them magic.

She’s twenty-four, talented and ambitious, and building a career as a screenwriter in London. Then world-famous actor Drew Manning walks into her life. He’s charismatic, impossible to read, and can open the doors to the Hollywood career Ava dreams of.

But Drew’s arrival triggers more than just opportunity. Strange things start to happen, and Ava is changing too. Dreams feel real, her intuition sharpens, and a dead woman talks to her. Vivienne Locke. Drew’s former partner, who died in a suspicious car crash years earlier. The more Ava learns, the more questions she has. And Drew’s answers only make things worse.

When he takes her to his secluded gothic mansion, everything intensifies. The house seems to know her, Vivienne’s presence grows stronger, and Ava starts recovering memories she couldn’t possibly have. Meanwhile, her attraction to Drew deepens, even as he becomes more possessive, volatile, and unpredictable.

Ava learns to trust her intuition and starts to use the abilities she’s spent her life ignoring. The more she wields them, the more powerful she becomes. And as Vivienne leads her deeper into the truth, Ava is forced to confront a new possibility: she isn’t just caught inside something supernatural. She is supernatural.

Now Ava has two mysteries to solve: what really happened to Vivienne, and what is happening to her. But the closer she gets to the answers, the more dangerous Drew becomes. To get out, Ava will have to rely on the very powers she’s only just beginning to understand.

And one thing is clear. It wasn’t chance that brought her to this house.
It was fate.
